The $48 Dress You Need For Spring!

DRESS: London Times // JACKET: Treasure and Bond // SHOES: Steve Madden // BAG: Urban Expressions // SUNGLASSES: Nordstrom // EARRINGS: Lisi Lerch

Good morning, friends! It's finally starting to warm up in Chicago... wooo, so I started busting out all the spring dresses, skirts, and shoes last weekend! We are moving in a month, so I really had to purge a bunch of winter stuff that I know I won't wear again next winter and summer stuff that I don't want to take with me to the new place!  One of my favorite spring dresses so far has been this adorable and bright colored shift dress by London Times.  It's part of their $48 collection, which features a bunch of different patterns and bright colors all for only $48 each!  I don't usually gravitate towards blue... I am more of a pink or red girl (it also comes in a pink color) but loved the all the blue tones of this dress, so I decided to go outside my comfort zone.  I am so glad I did because it's even more vibrant and pretty in person!  Since temps have not quite hit the 60's, I paired with my favorite denim jacket and this adorable (and big!) round bag.

In other news, I am going on a fun trip next week and need to start shopping asap! I can't wait to show you all where I am headed. :) xoxo

Beachy Waves w/ Conair InfinitiPro Steam Rollers

This post is sponsored by Conair.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

TOP (on sale!)
Happy Friday! Yay to the weekend finally being here, did anyone else feel like the week was dragging on?!  Since it's Friday and we have a date night tonight, I decided to try out the brand new Conair InfitiniPro Gentle Curls Steam Rollers to get some beachy waves and I am hooked!  I've always been somewhat intimidated by hot rollers, my mom uses them consistently and it always looks really good, but I never thought I knew how to use them properly.  I was totally wrong because not only are these super easy to use, they actually steam and condition your hair while they curl and don't expose your hair to the damage that heat usually gives off.  This set comes with 12 3/4" rollers and can steam 4 rollers at a time (they get warm fast!) so while you're applying, you can keep adding rollers to the heat.  The clips are very sturdy and supportive and did not leave any crimps in my hair like I heard many of them do!  My hair is very fine, so I wear extensions and these worked great on them... as I found it really easy to wrap the hair around but not feel like it's being tugged on or pulled out.

To start out, I let my hair air dry until it was about 3/4 the way dry and then blew out the rest straight so that I had a good base to work with.  Next, I sprayed it all over with a lightweight hairspray, I love Tressemee (perfect for fine hair!) so that it had a light coat.  Once it was ready to go, I started in the front and worked my way around to the back and then around to the other side.  I tend to do this when I curl my hair (I ALWAYS start on the left side for some reason) but you can do whatever way you feel most comfortable with.  I used generous sized pieces as I wanted to use all 12 and not have to take any out to re-use, but if you have thicker hair you may need to re-use some.  Once they were all in, I let sit for about 5 minutes and then took them out, starting from where I began.  I used more hairspray to spray all the curls once out and then ran a wide tooth comb through my hair to loosen it up and get a more beachy wave look.  Sprayed it again with a little more hairspray and voila- super easy look!

I found that using these rollers gave me a similar look as using a hot iron, but without the damage that the iron can do to my hair... plus it took me about half the time to achieve the look, so it's a win-win!  You can find these rollers online and the best part?! They're only $49.99!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! xoxo

Spring Espadrilles Under $100

Happy Tuesday-Shoesday!  I've been really into all the adorable espadrilles that are finally out for Spring/Summer, so I thought I would share with you some of my favorites which are all under $100! You don't have to break the bank to find a cute pair (or multiple pairs!) of shoes for spring, as some espadrilles that I found a lot of bloggers wearing are nearing the $200 mark.  Don't get me wrong, I love to splurge on a pair of shoes I know I will wear for a long time like these that I recently ordered, however, if you want a trendy pair that you cant ditch after the season is over, these are all perfect! I find espadrilles to usually be super comfy because of the platform, which all of these have.  Don't be intimidated by the higher platform on these and these, because they are actually really easy to walk in and give a lot of support!  This Halogen pair from Nordstrom comes in 5 different colors (perfect for every outfit) and feel the most comfortable on, so I highly recommend them if you're looking to just add one pair to your collection.  I just ordered these adorable bow slip-on sandals (which also come in red) so I will let you know how they are when I get a chance to wear them!

Happy Shopping! xoxo

Sunny Skies Ahead

SHIRT: Old Navy // SKIRT: Abercrombie // BANDANA: AE // SHOES: Vionic // SUNGLASSES: BP.

Happy Friday!  I just got back from Florida and was shocked to see it was in the 70's in Chicago! I am hoping it lasts and I can at least put the winter coats in storage for good... but sadly I have my doubts! ha-ha

Before I left, I found this adorable graphic tee for only $10!  I love how graphic tees and denim skirts are coming back... totally reminds me of High School but not hating it! On the note of High School, it's also crazy how much Abercrombie has made a comeback in the last year.  I've been living in this denim skirt from Abercrombie because it's so comfortable and the perfect wash... and I know I will be pairing it with crop tops and tee's all summer long!  If you're looking to invest in one for the summer, I highly recommend this one as it doesn't break the bank (they also always have sales!) but looks just as expensive as a designer brand one.

This weekend is full of packing because... SURPRISE! We just bought a house... eek! We have to pack up pretty much everything and drive it up to Wisconsin to store it at my parents while we get my current condo on the market.  If anyone is looking for a place in Chicago, hit your girl up! :)  xoxo

Ruffle Pants for Under $60!

TOP: Forever 21 // PANTS: BP. // BAG: Cult Gaia (less expensive version HERE) // SHOES: SEE by Chloe // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I've been in Florida for the last couple of days and it's been SO nice seeing 80 degrees again.  Being able to just through on shorts or a sundress is one of the best feelings!!  I wanted to show you all these adorable pants because 1. they are SO comfortable and flattering and 2. they are super affordable (only $52!)  If there is one pair of pants you have for spring, these should be them!   Since it's a high waist, I paired it with a fun white denim crop top (also super affordable) and some espadrilles.  These pants look just as cute with a black or white top tucked in and they really elongate the legs!  If you're in the market for a new pair of shoes for spring, I highly recommend these as well.  They are a little pricey, but very much worth it! The laser floral detailing is adorable and they're super comfortable!

I hope everyone has a great week! xoxo
