Spring Look for Under $50 with Gordmans

This post is sponsored by Gordmans.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a huge shopper.  I've always wanted the latest and greatest things, but haven't always had the budget to do so, which definitely turned me into the savvy-shopper I am today! I love finding good deals and always try super hard not to pay full price when I don't have to.  When I first heard about Gordmans, I was super intrigued by their department store brands at stellar prices so I had to check them out!  One of my friends actually shops there quite often, so when I told her about a campaign I was doing with them she immediately offered to drive me so that she could come with!

What I love about Gordmans (besides their amazing prices) is that they have a large selection of women's clothing- everything from shoes, handbags, denim etc. as well as a home decor section && men's and baby sections.  Gordmans is literally a one-stop shop for the whole family, which I love because it makes it SO easy.  Another thing, is they have a "Lowest Price Guarantee" program which means that if you find the product at a lower price somewhere else, Gordmans will match the competitors price PLUS give you a $5 Gordmans gift card.  When someone notifies them about a lower price somewhere else, their team will work to make sure that the price is lowered on that item moving forward so that other shoppers will get the best possible price as well!  All you have to do, is show the competitors ad, website or receipt showing the lower price and voila! the discounted price will automatically be honored.  Find out more about the program here.

When shopping at Gordmans, I found some amazing spring pieces and was able to create an entire look for under $50 (jeans & handbag are old)!  This "Bad Hair Day" hat was one of the first items that caught my eye... I mean how adorable is it?!  It's a velvet/suede material and was only $9.99!  I've seen hats like these at other competitors for $30 or more.  I also found this kimono I've been wanting for a while now for only $12.99 and a plain white tank for $6.99.  The kimono is the perfect lightweight material for spring and summer to throw over a dress or pair with jean shorts && the print is the cutest!  My favorite find were these white/rose gold sandals that were also $9.99... I almost bought them in black as well, but decided I'd probably wear the white a lot more, so I put them back.  The crescent moon layered necklace was a last minute find, but I am so glad I spotted it on my way out! They have a big selection of jewelry and I found this rose gold one for $5.99!  I love buying inexpensive statement jewelry that I can throw on, so for $5.99 it was a no-brainer.

Total price: $45.95...  I can't wait to go back in for some workout gear, which is definitely next on my list!

Faux Fur Sweater

SWEATER: Shein // JEANS: Topshop // BOOTS: Sold out, Similar HERE // BAG: GiGi New York // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's

Happy Monday!! Since it's still rather cold (and rainy) in Chicago, I've been wearing this adorable sweater on repeat lately.  I love how it's under $30 and definitely a statement piece, with the fur and crystal detailing! I wore this sweater out for brunch and for running errands, but it could also be dressed up for going out! I am a big fan of wearing white pants in the winter, but this looks just as cute with a pair of dark denim or even a denim skirt.  This sweater only comes in one size, but I want to say it fits probably like a typical Medium.  I really liked how it's on the looser side because it's so soft and comfy!!

I hope everyone has a great week! xoxo

Wedding Dress Try-On with Stella York

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today's post is super exciting because I finally get to show you all my experience trying on wedding dresses for the first time! I literally had no idea what style dress I wanted before I went to try them on, and decided not to even look at dresses on Pinterest or research different styles because I knew I would end up liking something completely different, so this was all completely new to me!  I set up my appointment with the Crystal Bride in Geneva, IL (about 40 minutes outside of Chicago) and immediately felt at ease the moment I walked in the door.

I mean, how gorgeous is this store?! I loved all the chandeliers and girly accents... and the lighting was on point, especially for getting a perfect look at the dresses.

I tried on an array of different styles, colors, and accessories, but I really wanted to show you guys a couple dresses I tried on by Stella York.  Stella York dresses are meant to be fun, flirty and fabulous... and that they are.  Every single dress I've seen by her, I am so impressed by the quality and detail that's put into each and every gown.  It was honestly almost impossible to decide because they all were so beautiful! The thing I love about Stella York is that she makes everything from ballgowns to sheath (and everything in between) and most dresses come in different colors, so they're super customizable to your liking.

The first dress I tried on was this gorgeous Simple Ballgown (Style 6634) dress with beaded straps.  This silhouette is so classic and has a dreamy modern feel... and an added plus: pockets!! Another thing I really loved was the button detailing that ran all the way down the train.  I am a huge fan of a long train, so this one was perfect and would definitely be a showstopper down the aisle.

The second dress I tried on was this gorgeous Open Back Wedding Dress (Style 6612).  This dress is an A-line silhouette that has a glitzy and glamorous feel due to the gorgeous lace and crystal beaded detailing.  I really liked this dress because of how comfortable it was on the body and the sequin tulle skirt.  This dress comes in 3 different colors (the one I have on is called Moscato), so if you'd rather have ivory or white that's also an option!  I was also in love with the train on this one.  It's definitely not as long as the first option, but it would be the perfect option for adding a cathedral veil.

Lastly but definitely not least, was this gorgeous Simple and Sleek Wedding gown (Style 6648), which comes in 6 different colors!  At first, I did not think I would like a sheath style dress, nor would I have even tried one on but I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed!  This dress consists of a matte lace and silk crepe fabric with a plunging V-neckline and a deep-V illusion back.  I was really drawn to a lot of dresses with the illusion look, so I loved the back of this dress so much.  Also, how about that train?! The lace detailing on the train was absolutely stunning.  I am most likely planning to wear my hair down, so I believe this dress would be perfect for any hairstyle!

As you can see from all 3 of these styles, Stella York truly goes above and beyond to make sure all of her dresses are made to be elegant, yet sexy and has the perfect option for every bride to be.  I had such a great experience trying on these dresses at the Crystal Bride, as they give you the attention and service one would hope to get when shopping for one of the most important days of your life.  I felt super comfortable there and felt the staff was extremely knowledgeable about all of the dresses, which is super important.

I would love to know which one is your favorite and what dress you could see me in!  I definitely feel more confident and feel like I have a better idea of which style I am leaning towards, but I would love to know your opinions as well!  xoxo

*Thank you to Stella York for sponsoring this post, as always all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible.

Valentine's Day Gifts with Woodfield Mall

Happy Friday! With Valentine's day just around the corner, I decided to head over to my absolute favorite mall to stock up on some fun Valentine's day gifts.  Living in downtown Chicago, I am pretty spoiled with the endless amount of stores steps away from my condo... but there is something refreshing and fun about getting a car and driving out to the suburbs to shop at Woodfield Mall.  If you've been following me for a while, then you know I've talked about Woodfield in the past when I did my Father's day shopping there.  Woodfield Mall is located about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Chicago (on a good traffic day!) and has over 300 shops and restaurants.  I used to come down to shop this mall in High School because they had so many more stores than I was used to be, being from Wisconsin.

My first stop to stock up on Valentine's day gifts for girlfriends and family was Lululemon.  Lululemon is my favorite store for finding girly gifts because you can get anything from fun workout pants to adorable headbands and yoga mats. What girl wouldn't want a pretty little gift from Lululemon under their Valentines day tree?! :) There are so many new pretty colors in the spring line, my favorite being all the pastel leggings!

For him, I always gravitate towards the Tommy Bahama store (Lululemon and Tommy Bahama are right next to each other, so it's super convenient!) to buy shorts for spring and the softest tees.  My fiance loves the t-shirts, so I love to stock up on them when I'm there.  I also found that there were so many different gift ideas for her as well.  The new candle line is ahhhhmazing.  They were burning one in the store that literally smelled like a Caribbean vacation... so I bought one in every scent (pineapple cilantro is my fav!)

If you live in or near Chicago, make sure to head to Woodfield Mall to buy your Valentine's day gifts before it's too late... don't forget Valentine's Day is on Wednesday, February 14th!!

Does anyone have any fun plans?! xoxo

Valentine's Day Looks

Top (From L-R): ONETWOTHREEFOURFIVE
Bottom (From L-R): ONETWOTHREEFOURFIVE

Happy Friday!! With Valentine's day just around the corner (10 days to be exact!) I wanted to share with you all some perfect Valentine's day outfits to celebrate the day of love.  I know a lot of people view Valentine's day as just a Hallmark card holiday, which may be true... however I think it's a fun excuse to put on a cute little dress, a red lip and celebrate over dinner (in a restaurant or even at home!) and a bottle of nice wine.  I am also a huge fan of red and pink, so anytime I get the chance to wear it, I jump on it!

All of these dresses would be absolutely perfect, and would also double for any amazing wedding guest dress- or even bridal shower outfit!  I absolutely love the lace detailing on this one and this one, and love the clean look of this one.  The Self Portrait is definitely a splurge, but is one of the best fitting dresses I have ever come across-- a must have staple, that you'll continue to wear over and over again!

Does anyone have any fun plans for Valentine's Day?  The fiance and I are going to a nice steak restaurant in the City, which I am super excited to try! xoxo
