Best Romper for Spring!

ROMPER: Lilly Pulitzer (also HERE in other color) // SHOES: Jack Rogers // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's // EARRINGS: Lesi Lerch // BAG: Old, Similar HERE

Can you all tell by now that I am missing the warm weather?! My happy place is where/when I can wear bright colors and no layers... summer in Chicago can't come soon enough!

When I received this romper from Lilly Pulitzer, I immediately knew that this romper could be worn casually or dressed up... If you can't tell from the pictures, there is actually little gold detailing throughout that really brightens it up and makes it look more dressy!  I wore it out casually for a day of lunch with some Jack Rogers, but for night time could easily throw on some wedges for a night on the town.  I absolutely love this print, but it also comes in a pink/orange combo thats available both on the Lilly Pulitzer site and at Nordstrom!  I also wanted to talk to you all about these sunglasses... I don't know if you've noticed, but I've pretty much been wearing them non-stop.  I love Ray-ban's, and they are usually my go to, however I found these beauties for only $14 and they've been stuck on my face ever since!! I started to shy away from buying expensive designer sunglasses as I am always breaking or losing them... so many cute ones out there for under $25!!

Hope you all are having a great week!! xoxo

Non-Traditional Lilly Pulitzer

DRESS: Lilly Pulitzer // SHOES: Tory Burch // BAG: Sold out, Similar HERE // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's // EARRINGS: Lisi Lerch

Happy Monday, everyone! Sad the weekend is over, but lots to do this week! The weather was actually a lot warmer in Chicago this weekend (and today!) which made me really wish I was able to wear this pretty little dress again.  One of my favorite things about this dress is that it's a non-traditional Lilly Pulitzer style.  If you're familiar with the brand, you know that most are fun patterns in lots of bright colors.  Rarely ever do they do black prints, so when I came across this dress I knew I had to have it!  I would say that it does run a little bit big, especially in the chest area.  I got a Small, but could easily have worn an XS in this dress.  The length is perfect for everyone as well, as it hits right about the knee, keeping it pretty modest.  The material is super comfortable and really light weight- so perfect for a tropical vaca or throwing on in the summer for a day of shopping.  I also think a denim jacket would look adorable with it!

It's crazy to think Spring is just around the corner, and so many stores already are getting prepared.  Stay tuned for lots more Spring styles!! xoxo

Winter Skincare Survival Tips with Dove

Ever since turning 30, I decided I really needed to step up my skincare routine.  I have always used basic products like face wash and moisturizer, but knew I really needed to start investing in some better quality products and focus on making it a daily occurrence.  Living in Chicago, the winter months take a toll on my skin.  With it being so cold 4-5 months out of the year, it can really do some major damage if you're not protecting it correctly.  I've learned the hard way that this can lead to cracking, itching, redness and sometimes even bleeding!  I teamed up with Dove, to give you some winter survival tips I learned from Dove's dermatologist, Dr. Alicia Barba.
1. Invest in a hydrating cleanser.  Dry skin, especially on the face, can feel super uncomfortable, annoying and even make it hard to apply makeup flawlessly. Using a hydrating cleanser and moisturizing 2x a day is key to making sure you have a hydrated and glowing face.

2. Stop exfoliating.  I know this sounds insane, but it's true! Over-exfoliating can strip the natural oils from your skin, leading to more breakouts in the dryer and colder months.  One misconception that many have is that rubbing off dead skin cells will improve skin, while in reality it's actually dehydrating it.  If you absolutely feel the need to exfoliate, try using a light exfoliating body wash instead.

3. Get into a bedtime routine. It may sound cliché, but bedtime is the best time for hydrating your skin! If you're looking to decrease collagen breakdown, consider these three steps recommended by Dr. Barba before crawling into bed: 1. Wash your face. 2. Apply a retinol. 3. Moisturize.  I promise, it only takes a total of 3 whole minutes!
4.  Sunscreen at all times- not just summer months!  I know so many people who don't use sunscreen in the winter, including me up to a few years ago. Harmful rays do not take a break in the winter, and can be just as harsh as in the summer! If you don't want to add in additional steps to your current routine, try switching to a moisturizer with SPF, which is a bit richer than your typical summer sunscreen. Sunscreen is a must for your face and any other areas exposed to the sun.  This is one tip I definitely wish I would have told myself to add in 10 years ago... start early!
5. Care for your underarms.  This is one area that cannot be seen, but definitely should not be overlooked! So many different textures and fabrics can be super irritating to your underarms, so you'll want to choose an antiperspirant that is hydrating and keeps you protected, Dr. Barba says. Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant is formulated with moisturizers to help alleviate some of that irritation that may occur and leave you with softer, smoother and better smelling underarms. Another plus is that it provides 48-hour odor and wetness protection... a win-win!

I hope these tips have helped in deciding what YOU will do to boost your skincare routine, let's not wait until it's to late to give your skin the love and protection it needs! Xoxo

Feeling Summery in January...

DRESS: Lilly Pulitzer // SHOES: Revere Shoes // BAG: Gucci // RING: 7 Charming Sisters // BRACELET: 7 Charming Sisters // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's // NECKLACE: Gorjana

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I am slowly but surely starting to get back into reality mode after having a nice long break over the holidays.  I went down to Florida to visit family, and while it was a little bit colder than usual we had a blast!  I was super excited to wear this dress I recently got from Lilly Pulitzer, and it was perfect for the low 70's/ high 60's temps.  The material is thicker (it actually has an SPF barrier- so even good in the sun!) and was super comfy for a day of lunch and shopping in Naples.  I paired it with my favorite ring (besides my engagement ring, of course!) and bracelet from 7 Charming Sisters... they are both super affordable and the perfect addition!

I wanted to show you guys these adorable shoes from Revere.  They are by far the most supportive and most comfortable sandals I own.  Mine are the "Miami" sandals in Champagne, and they come in 4 other colors as well! What I love about this brand & style, is they come with additional straps to really fit your foot exactly how they should.  You can add or remove straps to make them basically mold to your feet and fit perfectly.  There is also a removable comfort footbed with a built-in arch incase you want to put your own custom orthopedics in!  I walked around all day and night in these sandals and my feet never hurt once, which is definitely a rare occurrence!  They are a Palm Beach company which is another reason why I love them... perfect for my yearly trips to Florida.  Outside of sandals, they also have ballerina flats and even boots (I am loving these boots in gold, they are so fun!!) as well as men's shoes.

Save the Dates with Minted and our Wedding Website!

Happy Monday!  It's been awhile since I've posted any wedding updates (or anything at all!), so I'm super excited to show you all my Save the Dates I created with Minted!  So far we have a lot of the big Wedding planning stuff done, so Save the Dates were next on my list.  I decided to send them out a little earlier than usual because our Wedding falls during one of the busiest (and most popular) months, so I wanted to give out of town people ample time to prepare.

I did a ton of research when initially looking at options for our Save the Dates, and found that Minted had the best options and best reviews from previous couples who used them in the past.  I truly can't speak enough praise about the whole process.  There are tons and tons of different options to choose from and can really fit any budget. They also have an address book that lets you upload all of your addresses seamlessly and without error (I was SO nervous about putting the wrong addresses in, or spelling something incorrectly).  I decided to go with the two-sided card in the pearlescent paper.  This paper was a little bit more expensive but gives it a nice shine and luxe feel.  I also opted for the real gold foil... I highly recommend this as it looks amazing! You can get it in gold, rose gold or silver.

Another thing that really drew me to Minted, is the fact that they will print all addresses on your envelopes for free! This saves so much time from having to write each one out, and looks super nice too!  The envelopes were also a thick card stock, so really great quality- I even got the gold glitter liner to add an extra touch. (FYI- you do need to insert these yourself, they don't come assembled.)  If you want to do customized stamps, there's a huge variety of different options to choose from... I'm really into the monogram style, so naturally, I had to choose one that had our initials on it!

All in all, I had a great experience with Minted and would highly recommend them for any of your Wedding paper needs-- they do everything from invitations to menus to place cards so that everything will match!

Also, I have a fun announcement for all my other brides-to-be currently planning their wedding... WeddingWire (my go-to for ALL wedding related stuff) is holding a #JustSaidYes contest and are giving the grand prize winner $10,000 towards their future wedding courtesy of Kohls!  There are other prizes you can win as well, like two sets of luggage from Away and a $2,500 gift card to Blue Nile!! All you have to do is snap a picture of you and your soon to be hubby and share via Instagram with the hashtag #justsaidyes and tag @weddingwire... it's SO easy! Find out more HERE.

And lastly, I thought you all might like to see OUR website that I created with WeddingWire-- it was super easy to make and really user-friendly! :)
