Beachy Waves w/ Conair InfinitiPro Steam Rollers

This post is sponsored by Conair.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

TOP (on sale!)
Happy Friday! Yay to the weekend finally being here, did anyone else feel like the week was dragging on?!  Since it's Friday and we have a date night tonight, I decided to try out the brand new Conair InfitiniPro Gentle Curls Steam Rollers to get some beachy waves and I am hooked!  I've always been somewhat intimidated by hot rollers, my mom uses them consistently and it always looks really good, but I never thought I knew how to use them properly.  I was totally wrong because not only are these super easy to use, they actually steam and condition your hair while they curl and don't expose your hair to the damage that heat usually gives off.  This set comes with 12 3/4" rollers and can steam 4 rollers at a time (they get warm fast!) so while you're applying, you can keep adding rollers to the heat.  The clips are very sturdy and supportive and did not leave any crimps in my hair like I heard many of them do!  My hair is very fine, so I wear extensions and these worked great on them... as I found it really easy to wrap the hair around but not feel like it's being tugged on or pulled out.

To start out, I let my hair air dry until it was about 3/4 the way dry and then blew out the rest straight so that I had a good base to work with.  Next, I sprayed it all over with a lightweight hairspray, I love Tressemee (perfect for fine hair!) so that it had a light coat.  Once it was ready to go, I started in the front and worked my way around to the back and then around to the other side.  I tend to do this when I curl my hair (I ALWAYS start on the left side for some reason) but you can do whatever way you feel most comfortable with.  I used generous sized pieces as I wanted to use all 12 and not have to take any out to re-use, but if you have thicker hair you may need to re-use some.  Once they were all in, I let sit for about 5 minutes and then took them out, starting from where I began.  I used more hairspray to spray all the curls once out and then ran a wide tooth comb through my hair to loosen it up and get a more beachy wave look.  Sprayed it again with a little more hairspray and voila- super easy look!

I found that using these rollers gave me a similar look as using a hot iron, but without the damage that the iron can do to my hair... plus it took me about half the time to achieve the look, so it's a win-win!  You can find these rollers online and the best part?! They're only $49.99!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! xoxo

Spring Espadrilles Under $100

Happy Tuesday-Shoesday!  I've been really into all the adorable espadrilles that are finally out for Spring/Summer, so I thought I would share with you some of my favorites which are all under $100! You don't have to break the bank to find a cute pair (or multiple pairs!) of shoes for spring, as some espadrilles that I found a lot of bloggers wearing are nearing the $200 mark.  Don't get me wrong, I love to splurge on a pair of shoes I know I will wear for a long time like these that I recently ordered, however, if you want a trendy pair that you cant ditch after the season is over, these are all perfect! I find espadrilles to usually be super comfy because of the platform, which all of these have.  Don't be intimidated by the higher platform on these and these, because they are actually really easy to walk in and give a lot of support!  This Halogen pair from Nordstrom comes in 5 different colors (perfect for every outfit) and feel the most comfortable on, so I highly recommend them if you're looking to just add one pair to your collection.  I just ordered these adorable bow slip-on sandals (which also come in red) so I will let you know how they are when I get a chance to wear them!

Happy Shopping! xoxo

Sunny Skies Ahead

SHIRT: Old Navy // SKIRT: Abercrombie // BANDANA: AE // SHOES: Vionic // SUNGLASSES: BP.

Happy Friday!  I just got back from Florida and was shocked to see it was in the 70's in Chicago! I am hoping it lasts and I can at least put the winter coats in storage for good... but sadly I have my doubts! ha-ha

Before I left, I found this adorable graphic tee for only $10!  I love how graphic tees and denim skirts are coming back... totally reminds me of High School but not hating it! On the note of High School, it's also crazy how much Abercrombie has made a comeback in the last year.  I've been living in this denim skirt from Abercrombie because it's so comfortable and the perfect wash... and I know I will be pairing it with crop tops and tee's all summer long!  If you're looking to invest in one for the summer, I highly recommend this one as it doesn't break the bank (they also always have sales!) but looks just as expensive as a designer brand one.

This weekend is full of packing because... SURPRISE! We just bought a house... eek! We have to pack up pretty much everything and drive it up to Wisconsin to store it at my parents while we get my current condo on the market.  If anyone is looking for a place in Chicago, hit your girl up! :)  xoxo

Ruffle Pants for Under $60!

TOP: Forever 21 // PANTS: BP. // BAG: Cult Gaia (less expensive version HERE) // SHOES: SEE by Chloe // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I've been in Florida for the last couple of days and it's been SO nice seeing 80 degrees again.  Being able to just through on shorts or a sundress is one of the best feelings!!  I wanted to show you all these adorable pants because 1. they are SO comfortable and flattering and 2. they are super affordable (only $52!)  If there is one pair of pants you have for spring, these should be them!   Since it's a high waist, I paired it with a fun white denim crop top (also super affordable) and some espadrilles.  These pants look just as cute with a black or white top tucked in and they really elongate the legs!  If you're in the market for a new pair of shoes for spring, I highly recommend these as well.  They are a little pricey, but very much worth it! The laser floral detailing is adorable and they're super comfortable!

I hope everyone has a great week! xoxo

The Cutest Gingham Top for $49

TOP: Lost & Wander // JEANS: BP. // BAG: Cult Gaia (Exact Dupe, less expensive HERE) // SHOES: Express (On sale, also comes in black!) // EARRINGS: SugarFix by Baublebar (similar HERE) // Sunglasses: Francesca's

Happy Good Friday!  One of my favorite things about Spring is all the bright colors that come back.  Don't get me wrong, I am a sucker for neutrals like black, grey and taupe... but there is something about wearing bright colors that just puts me in a good mood and ultimately makes me feel better about the day!  I found this adorable off the shoulder gingham top for only $49 and immediately fell in love with the bright color embroidery.  It's such a nice material (super lightweight) and just feels extremely comfortable on.  The sleeves are puffed out a little, which gives it a cute feminine feel and perfect for dressing up or down!  I wore this top with a denim skirt (when the temps were just a taaaad bit warmer, and it looks just as cute tucked in.)

I also wanted to talk about these jeans for a second because holy cannoli, these are the best!!  They are affordable (only $69!) and have the perfect distressing, especially the bottom hem!  I will say that these are probably one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I own, and the color is great for a super casual look.  These run TTS and I am wearing a size 4!

I hope everyone has an amazing Easter weekend and gets to celebrate with friends and family! xoxo

Macy's Wedding Registry Happy Honeymoon Sweepstakes!

This post is sponsored by Macy's.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

I've really been on a whim lately, finishing up my last minute registry favorites as we start to send out the bridal shower invitations!  One of my favorite parts so far (and most fun, in my opinion) is being able to register for things we will use once we buy a new place and can finally start settling in as an actual family (!!)  Macy's has always been one of my favorite department stores, especially for buying shoes... so when I knew I needed to start thinking about registry gifts, I headed to to get started!

Before I get into all of the reasons to register at Macy’s, let me tell you about a sweepstakes they’re running this month...

You could win an AMAZING honeymoon sweepstakes just for creating a registry at Macy's, win- win!  The grand prize winner will receive:

  • an all expenses paid honeymoon (7 night stay at Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa in the Maldives)
  • $5,000 cash to put towards airfare
  • $2,000 Macy's gift card
  • 4 pieces of Delsey luggage

Grand prize totaling $12,780!!

This sweepstakes ends on 3/31/18, so you will need to act fast to enter!! *No Purchase Necessary. Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States including District of Columbia, 18 years and older with a Qualified Registry. Ends 3/31/18. For Official Rules, visit Void where prohibited.

Here are 5 reasons why I would suggest any brides-to-be create a registry with Macy's:
  • They have an extensive selection of top brands and exclusive products.  They carry brands such as Le Creuset (my favorite!) Dyson and Martha Stewart (exclusive to Macy's.)
  • They offer a "newlywed discount" which means you will get 20% off most of your remaining registry items for 6 months after your wedding, and 10% off furniture and mattresses.
  • It's a one-stop shop for all your registry needs.  From outfits for the shower, engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, etc to luggage for the honeymoon and even gifts for your wedding party, Macy's truly has it all!
  • They have lots of in-store services & events where they often host couples and throw fun parties where you can complete your registries while you eat, sip and listen to a DJ!

Here are some of my must have items!

Good Luck & Happy Registering!! xoxo

HOODIE: Brunette The Label // SKIRT: STS Blue // SUNGLASSES: Francesca's // SHOES: ADIDAS

Good morning, everyone!! I wanted to share a fun look with you all that is perfect both for the blondies out there as well as the brunettes!  This sweatshirt is seriously SO comfortable... it's really soft inside and has the cutest raw hem detail so it's not like your typical baggy style sweatshirt.  It's cropped, but definitely long enough to wear with a high waisted skirt or jeans.  If you want to go super comfy, the brand also makes matching sweatpants which are just as adorable!!  I found this skirt a couple weeks ago and have to say- i'm obsessed!  The uneven hem definitely makes it more unique than your typical denim skirt (is anyone else super excited that denim skirts are back in style?!) It's also under $60, which makes it a great deal and perfect staple item for spring!

On another note, can anyone else relate to the fact that it's now Spring and SO cold outside?! It feels more like the middle of Winter, then even being close to Spring weather!! Thank God for a couple warm weather trips coming up!

The Perfect Dress for Easter

DRESS: Banana Republic Factory (on sale, also comes in black!) // BAG: Urban Expressions- Similar HERE // HEELS: Steve Madden // EARRINGS: Lisi Lerch

Hi Everyone!! With Easter only two weeks away, I wanted to share this perfect dress I found just in time!  Currently it's 50% off and also comes in black (the perfect LBD!)  What I especially love about this dress, is that the straps are removable so that you can also wear it strapless and the length hits just above the knee so it's a great length for anyone (and can even be worn to church!) The yellow is also even prettier in person... and would look even better with a tan ;) On another note, sadly this bag is sold out, but I found a super similar one still in stock here.  I've been seeing a lot of these round bags lately, and it's definitely a trend I want to stick around!

Does anyone have plans for Easter weekend? We are trying out the restaurant that we are holding our Rehearsal dinner at, and then heading somewhere warm the following weekend!  I can't wait!! xoxo
