Getting Ready for Valentine's Day with Civello Salon & Spa

Happy Tuesday and last day of January! I swear it feels like January flew by, can you believe it's almost time for Valentine's day?!  I was at the store the other day, and all of the shelves are stocked full of pink valentine's goodies... which kind of makes me miss the good old days where we'd pass out Valentine's to everyone in our class.

To get ready for Valentine's day, I've partnered up Civello Salon & Spa in Lincoln Park, the flagship location to their Canadian stores. If you live in the Chicago area, you must stop by this salon if you want to a full on pampered experience and feel like a princess for the day.  I was blown away the minute I stepped foot in the salon.  It's an Aveda salon (my absolute favorite) so right away it smelled like Heaven.  First, I got whisked off to my chair and was offered complimentary tea, water or coffee.  Jenn, the master colorist of the salon, was the one did the color on my hair.  I recently received some Bellami extensions (because I am an avid hair-extension wearer, if you didn't know) and I wanted them to match perfectly.  Since the extensions were ombre, and my natural hair is already some-what ombre, I had her lighten the ends and darken my faded roots.  The end result was absolutely gorgeous.  I was amazed at how good my hair looked and felt after getting the ends lightened, as it still felt super soft and didn't look damaged.  The assistants also did an amazing job of making me feel relaxed and pampered.  I received both a neck and hand massage throughout my time there, as well as an amazing head massage with the wash.  I didn't want to leave the chair!

After my color service, I was introduced to Deron, a hair cutting expert, to trim my hair and blend in the extensions.  He did a phenomenal job blending them to make sure my natural hair wasn't obvious and didn't go overboard with the cut (I am trying to grow my hair out!)  He was also very knowledgeable and explained things about the extensions that I didn't even know after 7 years of wearing them.

Valentine's day is only 14 days away and luckily for you, Civello now offers extended hours to make sure they can accommodate anyone's schedule and give them an all-over relaxing experience.   The salon and spa offer an array of services ranging from hair care to facials to nails, body polishes, massages and so much more.  I can't wait to return to try their Tulasara facial (I've heard so many amazing things!)  To get pampered and ready for Valentine's day this year (whether you're hanging with girlfriends or going out with that special someone) I recommend scheduling an appointment at Civello to get your hair blown out and your nails freshly polished.  I can't promise you'll make your date because you may never want to leave!

You can find Civello Salon and Spa at 1001 W. North Avenue in Lincoln Park (right by the whole foods!) If you're a new guest, you can get $20 off your first service here: New Guest, ask for either Jen or Deron and be ready to be amazed! xoxo

Fit Analysis at New Balance Chicago...

It's 2017 and finally time for me to get into an everyday routine that involves some sort of fitness.  Whether it be taking a 30-minute walk, or lifting weights for 30 minutes, I believe it's super important to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day.  I am not huge on 'resolutions,' however, if I was to choose one it would be this.

I recently was invited into the New Balance store in Lincoln Park (there are 4 other locations around the Chicagoland area- Hyde Park, Oakbrook Terrace, Orland Park & Shaumburg) to do a free Fit Analysis.  The analysis was so interesting-- they first measure your feet to get the perfect size, and then put you onto a machine that actually scans the bottom of your feet to analyze your arches and find your highest pressure points.  They then have you walk on treadmill (located inside the store) to see your form and the way you walk on your feet.  I knew I always had high arches, but I was able to see that I actually had a high arch on one foot and a more normal arch on the other.  This started to all make sense, as I usually have issues/pain with one foot and not the other!  After the analysis, they showed me 3 different pairs of kicks that would work well with my feet and be the most comfortable choices.  I ended up going with these (under $80), because of the comfort and the style.  It's hard to see in the pictures here, but there is a little bit of "shimmer" in the fabric near the toe.  I also ended up walking out with these adorable sweatpants.  I swear since I've brought them home, I wear them at least 3x a week.

While I wouldn't recommend these shoes as a running shoe, they're more of a lifestyle shoe- they'd definitely be good for walking and every day.  If you're looking for a running shoe, the New Balance store has so many options that are supposed to be amazing for running, so I would definitely check it out.  Again, the Fit Analysis is completely free- so stop in any store to get started and find your perfect fit... what are you waiting for?! :) xoxo

Thanks to New Balance for sponsoring this post... as always, all opinions are my own.

Dreaming of Spring...

DRESSVAVA by Joy Han // WEDGESJeffrey Campbell // BAGJ. Crew // SUNGLASSESILY Couture // EARRINGSBaublebar // BRACELETSJ. Crew Factory and David Yurman

Happy Monday and back to the grind!  This weekend in Chicago was SO nice that my boyfriend and I got to go for a bike ride down by the lake.  It was 60 degrees in January... definitely unheard of! It was so much fun seeing everyone outside enjoying the weather, I wish it could last but sadly we are back down to the 40's (which is still higher than average for this time of year!)

I am super sad because this dress just recently sold out-- I guess everyone else sees just how cute it is, but Revolve has so many great Vava by Joy Han pieces (one of my favorite designers!)  I am also currently all about this calf-hair and leopard bag I received for Christmas this year.  This bag is SO soft and literally a staple to any outfit.  I feel like leopard print is an awesome neutral because it's more fun going with something plain to jazz up an outfit.  I also love to pattern mix it with other patterns such as stripes and polka dots!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! xoxo

Floral Romper

ROMPERAdorn Apparel c/o // SANDALSJack Rogers // BAGCloset Access (under $100!) // SUNGLASSESILY // RING: Kendra Scott // BRACELETSJ.Crew Factory and David Yurman  // EARRINGSBaublebar

This romper is definitely a new favorite!  I always love everything from Adorn Apparel, but this romper definitely takes the cake.  My favorite part of the romper is the little cutouts down the middle and across the waist... it doesn't show a lot of skin, but it still adds some extra flair!  I wore this on my trip in Florida out shopping for the day, and had SO many compliments on it.  It runs a little bit on the smaller size (I sized up one size for the perfect fit), so keep that in mind if you decide to order it.  I have also been obsessing over this bag from Closet Access.  I've always wanted a Chloe bag, however, at this time it just doesn't fit in the budget... so this is the perfect affordable option of the trendy bag (it's under $100!).  It also comes in black and brown, which I am also dying to get!  Finally, you can't go wrong with a classic pair of Jack Rogers.  I swear, I have about 10 pairs (every color in the rainbow) but I wear them all summer long.  They are the perfect compliment to any summer romper/dress or jeans/shorts.

Does anyone have anything fun planned this weekend?!  I am hoping to watch the Packers kick some Atlanta butt on Sunday!! xoxo

The Best Ruffle Sweater

SWEATEREndless Rose (Similar HERE) // JEANSDL1961 // HEELS: Sold out (similar HERE) // BAGTory Burch // EARRINGSBaublebar

Happy Wednesday everyone! This is my first week back to work and back to reality, and it's definitely been difficult.  The weather is so dreary here, I am already planning out my next vacation!

Because it's been so cold in Chicago, I recently invested in this black ruffle sleeve sweater.  I am a sucker for fun details on any piece of clothing, but especially love the big bell sleeves.  This sweater runs on the smaller side, so I would highly recommend sizing up to get the perfect looser fit.  I've also been really into the flare-leg jeans.  It's funny to think they are coming back after being super trendy back in middle school.  I still think some styles can be a little too much (and widen the leg) but investing in a nice dark pair is key.  I had to get mine altered a bit because the came super long, but with heels I can still wear them and not have them drag on the ground.  If you are looking for a pair, I suggest going with these as they are super comfortable and classic.

Hope everyone has a great day, thanks for stopping by! xoxo

Snow Day...

SWEATERBBDakota // JEANSNordstrom // BAGCloset Access (under $100!) // SCARFSole Society // BOOTSCatherine Malandrino // BRACELETJ. Crew Factory // RINGMichael Kors

Happy 2017 everyone! I hope everyone had a great night ringing in the New Year.   I was happy to be in warm weather and celebrate in Florida this year with my boyfriend and family.

I wore this outfit recently after we had a semi-snow storm in Chicago.  I love wearing white pants in the Winter (contrary to the no white after labor day rule) because I think winter white is SO pretty.  I paired it with this super soft BBDakota sweater (that's under $100!) because it was absolutely freezing outside.  I also love the contrast between gray and white, so I decided to go with my Catherine Malandrino over the knee boots.  If you have a hard time finding boots that don't stay up over the knee or are uncomfortable, these are perfect.  I was drawn to these because of how similar they look to the Stuart Weitzman ones, but for 1/4 of the price.  Even though these are under $100, they look and feel expensive!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great day! Thanks for stopping by. xoxo
