Picking out Wedding Bands with A.Jaffe x C.D. Peacock!

Last month I had the opportunity to co-host with an event with A.Jaffe at C.D. Peacock, the oldest jewelry retailer in the Chicagoland area- since 1837!!  There was a flower crown artist on hand from Steve's Flower Market, a manicurist from Canvas Nail Studio and even a Calligrapher who was creating the most adorable place cards and coasters.  The night started by looking at all of the gorgeous A.Jaffe wedding bands and swooning over all of the amazing diamonds.  I've always known I wanted two bands to make my ring look symmetrical, so I looked at a bunch of classic but beautiful styles and finally narrowed it down to two that I really fell in love with!

The entire staff at C.D. Peacock was so wonderful and helpful in aiding my decisions and making sure I was comfortable.  They really were honest in what they thought looked best with my engagement ring and the different styles that would suit it.  My engagement ring is absolutely amazing (the fiance did well!) so I also didn't want anything that took away from that too much, as some bands can drown the overall look of your engagement ring.  One of the rings I did choose, was completely different then I thought I would have originally picked, so it was super fun going out of my comfort zone and trying on tons of different styles.  Another thing I loved about C.D. Peacock is that you can bring in your rings at any time to be cleaned and it only takes a few minutes!  They cleaned mine while I was there and it came out looking brand spanking new.  They also cleaned my mom's rings and offered to bring them back at any time to be cleaned again.  My fiance decided to go with a family ring which is super sentimental to him, so we didn't look at men's bands but I did see a plethora of them in the store!  A.Jaffe carries some amazing and affordable men's rings in platinum, yellow, rose or white gold.

For all of you brides to be who have yet to buy your rings, or maybe you want to find a fun diamond piece or even a Rolex watch-- C.D. Peacock has 3 locations in the Chicagoland area.  I decided to go with A.Jaffe as my wedding band brand because all of their gold is 100% nickel free and their 18k gold is alloyed with 40% more palladium then most retailers-- they're also hypoallergenic, so they won't cause any irritation to the skin!

The Perfect Holiday Skirt

SKIRT: Lucy Paris (on sale!) // TOP: Skylar Belle // BOOTS: Sold out, similar HERE // BAG: GIGI New York // EARRINGS: Lisi Learch

I've been starting to think of some holiday outfit ideas for some parties coming up, and this outfit immediately came to mind.  Embroidery has been in for a while now, and I really hope it's here to stay! This skirt (which is currently on sale!!) is perfect for the holidays because it's actually a faux velvet material and the details in the embroidery are absolutely amazing.  I paired it with my favorite yellow lace crop top from Skylar Belle (which you can currently get 15% off!) for an extra add of popped color.  What I also really like about this outfit for the holiday, is that it's not your typical holiday colors but a fun spin on it!

If you're looking for a fun pair of earrings- or a great Christmas gift, check out Lisi Learch.  Her selection of jewelry (including these disk earrings) come in an array of colors and styles and just about everything is right under $100! xoxo

Creating a Holiday Look with Gordmans x NYX

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I'm really excited to share with you all todays post in creating a holiday look with NYX makeup that I received from Gordmans!  If you aren't familiar with Gordmans, it's an off-price retailer that carries everything from home decor to designer fashion.  Even though it's an off-price retailer, they still sell lots of items still in season, they just buy excess inventory from department and specialty stores and sell them for a big discount!  Gordmans is such a fun store to shop in because you never know what you're going to find, plus all of the associates are SO friendly and helpful!

Gordmans now carries makeup and skincare from NYX – one of the best brands for professional-quality cosmetics at affordable prices. Gordmans sent me five great, universally flattering NYX products to use to create a holiday makeup look. These products are fantastic because they are so versatile – the lipsticks can be worn alone or layered to create a pretty hot pink lip, and the highlighting palette can be used for the face, as eyeshadows, or patted on top of lipstick for a cool, pearlescent look.

For my look, I used the highlighting palette on my eyes for shadow (bottom right for all over the lid/upper lid and top right for over the eyelid), and used it to sweep highlighter across my cheekbones for some added dimension.  I absolutely love the mascara because it comes with a fiber tube that dramatically adds length to the lashes to make them really 'pop.' The lipstick is the perfect Holiday red, and I loved layering the the gloss over it to create an amazing glossy look.

Leopard Duster

LEOPARD DUSTER: Skylar Belle (c/o), similar HERE // BODYSUIT: YUMMIE // JEANS: AG Jeans // BAG: Vera Bradley (c/o) // EARRINGS: Lisi Lerch (c/o) // BOOTS: Vince Camuto (on sale!)

Happy Tuesday & week of Thanksgiving!! I don't know about you, but Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays purely because I love to eat all the delicious food and spend time with family.  We are doing a couple Thanksgiving's this year, which I am also super excited about!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, this outfit would be perfect to spend the Holiday's in.  This leopard duster coat is one of my favorites as it's super comfortable and I love how long it is.  I paired it with my favorite Yummie bodysuit and AG jeans.  A bodysuit may not be your best bet for Thanksgiving dinner (need room to eat!!) but throwing on a black (or white) tee would also go perfect with this duster. I also recently was introduced to the jewelry line Lisi Lerch and fell in love with these gold statement earrings. If you're a fan of the tassel earrings, they have them in pretty much every color- and they're such good quality!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! xoxo

How I Asked My Bridesmaids

Today's post is probably the most fun one I've ever done (and highly requested!) I am excited to show you all how I asked my bridesmaids to be in my wedding next year! I knew I wanted to do something cute & fun ever since getting engaged, so I figured this was the best way to tie it all together!

I bought THESE plain white gift bags from Hobby Lobby and had my friend Delaina create custom calligraphy on each bag!  Check out her Delaina J Designs for all of your calligraphy needs... she is amazing! I used plain gold and gold/white polka dot tissue paper to stuff the bags and wrap the gifts.

I absolutely loved these personalized bride/bridesmaid drawings by JesMarried, where I could create the look of each girl in wedding party and frame it instead of giving a card.  I truly believe this approach is way more personal and sentimental than a typical card.  I also found some adorable frames at Homegoods to frame them, so they wouldn't get bent or damaged.

I picked up some mini bottles of Chandon Rose because I loved the pink tops! I found them on sale at Target for only $8 and used these adorable save the date labels on the bottles from Take it Personally by Merill.

To go along with the mini bottles of champagne, I got each one of my girls a customized champagne flute and chose to write their names in gold because thats the color I want to do for my bridesmaid dresses! These champagne flutes can be found at Bubbly + Bash, a super cute one-stop shop for all your party needs!

Voluspa candles are my absolute favorite and they smell amazing, so naturally they were one of the first things I picked out! I bought 3 different scents, Macaron, Saijo Persimmon and Prosecco Bellini and wanted to keep them all to myself (I may have ended up buying myself a few too...)  These are the perfect gift and would make for any birthday or holiday gift as well!

I came across this company, L' Atelier Unique last year and fell in love with all of their monogram straw clutches and bags! You can customize these clutches with your initials or cute phrases and choose the color of your paint and pompoms.  I decided to go with black and white because I wanted something more neutral, and even got a cute white initial clutch with my new initials on it... which will be perfect for the big day. :)

Asking the girls to be in my wedding was so much fun and I know they all loved their gifts!  Planning a wedding can get stressful, but I've decided to let myself just have fun and appreciate every second of it, as I know this next year will fly by.  Since I am not hiring a coordinator, WeddingWire has become my best friend.  There are so many amazing resources on WeddingWire from finding a venue, photographer, caterer, etc to forum boards with other brides answering all of your hard questions.  I also recently started creating my wedding website on there and hope to have it done soon- I can't wait to show you all!

*Huge thank you to all of the Etsy shops & WeddingWire for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own.
