Ways to Wear White in the Fall...

I personally am an avid believer of being able to wear white after Labor Day and into the Fall and Winter seasons, as white is a color that can look super chic if done the right way!

In the fall, I usually pair a big chunky white sweater like this one, with a pair of leather leggings and some booties.  I love the contrast of black and white and the leather leggings can really dress it up if wearing from daytime to night.  I also love a good pair of white denim (preferably off-white, not stark white) with a tan fur vest.  I usually wear a fall-ish color underneath, like a burgundy (my current fav) or olive green turtleneck.  I honestly live by this look in the colder months; it's so easy to put together and looks great on just about anyone.  For a little bit of a dressier look, I pair a cute button down white skirt with a rich burgundy blazer- and a pair of knee high boots!  I am obsessing over this blazer and believe it's the perfect fall staple your closet needs.  Speaking of blazers, I also really like this white/black combo blazer paired with dark denim.  Again, super easy for dressing up or down, wearing to work or out with girlfriends for happy hour.

All of these outfits would be adorable with this white saddlebag and Kendra Scott Rayne necklace.  I own the white one myself and literally wear it with just about everything.  The white stone has some marblization to it, so it also is not a stark white.

Do you wear white after Labor Day?! I would love to hear your thoughts!

Flats for Fall...

ONETed Baker // TWOIvanka Trump // THREEAthena Alexander // FOURMadewell // FIVESole Society // SIXTory Burch // SEVENTory Burch // EIGHTIvanka Trump

Happy Hump Day!  The other day in Chicago it dropped down into the high 60's and all I could think about was how excited I am to start wearing flats again... sad, but true. Ha ha!  There are so many adorable ones out there already, and I just want every single pair!  I believe that everybody needs a little variety when owning any type of shoes and all of these really fit that bill.  The cap toe flats (like this amazing pair by the amazingly talented Ivanka Trump) are so perfect for throwing on with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a button up top.  I love these specifically because they are suede and classic, will go with pretty much anything in your closet.  I am also dying over these Tory Burch scalloped flats... the detailing on these are perfect and give such a pretty feminine touch.  These are currently sitting in my cart until I can finally decide which color I want to get (or maybe I should just get both!)

On another note, has anyone watched the show Stranger Things?! My boyfriend and I just finished the first season and it was craaaazy but so good! We got addicted and now it's a waiting game until the second season comes out.  Come on Netflix!!  I highly recommend watching if you haven't, especially if you like thrillers/sci-fi's!

Hope everyone has a great day! xoxo

Best of Burgundy: Friday Favorites...

CLUTCHRebecca Minkoff // DRESSNordstrom // NAIL POLISHNars // FLATSHalogen // EARRINGSPanacea // MOTO LEGGINGS: BP. // BANGLEMadewell // BAGRebecca Minkoff

Happy Friday!! Did anyone else feel like it was a never-ending week?!

I am rounding up some of my favorite pieces for fall in the color of the season, burgundy. If you look around on the runway and in store windows, you will see this color popping up everywhere. From clothing to handbags to shoes and even lip color, you'll be sure to see a lot of this color coming into the fall and winter seasons.

I am really crushing on the part suede part leather Rebecca Minkoff handbag and these Halogen flats. I have the flats in a cheetah print already (bought them at the Nordstrom anniversary sale) but I am definitely in need of this burgundy pair as well.

I attended a fashion show this week to see some of Neiman Marcus's fall looks and another trend you will see a lot of this season is velvet and metallics. Every model pretty much had some form of velvet and metallic incorporated in their look and honestly, I couldn't be more excited about the trend!

Does anyone have anything fun planned this weekend? I am heading to dinner tonight with my boyfriends family, a crawfish boil tomorrow (YUM) and will probably head to the air and water show on Sunday. It gets SO busy in Chicago during the air and water show, and living right downtown near all of it, should be interesting! Wish me luck!! xoxo

Fall Home Decor Favorites...

Can you believe it's almost fall? I looked a calendar the other day and realized that Summer is slowly but surely coming to an end and in no time the weather will start to get chilly and every weekend will be filled with football games and cozy fires. (not mad about it, ha ha)  Even though it's still very warm and definitely not sweater weather yet, this year has really flew by and I have a feeling the fall/winter will fly by as well. I am traveling every month for the next 5, so Christmas will be here before I know it!

I rounded up some of my favorite Fall home decor items today, because believe it or not, they are out!  This is one of the first fall's in a while that I am actually getting excited for, so I went a little crazy with how I want to decorate this year.  Nordstrom has the cutest Fall decor, especially this skull pillow, football cutting board and this hilariously adorable welcome mat.  I will definitely be using these in my condo this year!

On another note, who's all watching the Olympics?  I haven't gotten too into it this year, but the swimming is pretty impressive, especially for some of the USAer's.  It almost became addicting to watch, ha ha!  Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! xoxo

POPSUGAR August Must Have...

Another month, another POPSUGAR Must Have Box! This month I was super excited when I received my box because of this awesome blow up swan drink holder and these adorable emoji cocktail napkins!  I have been eyeing up one of the pool floats for a while now, so I was just as excited about the miniature one to float around drinks in the pool; I can't wait to use it this weekend!  I am also a huge fan of Michael Stars, all of the t-shirts are so comfy and make the perfect casual outfit, and this scarf will be the perfect addition to that casual fall outfit.

You can see my July's box here, but if you aren't familar with POPSUGAR Must Have, it's a monthy subscription box that comes in two options: the Must Have and the Mini.  The Mini is $18.95 and includes a smaller version of the Must Have but still with just as great curated full size products!  The Must Have is $39.95 a month, but if you subscribe to 3 or 6 months up front there is a discount.  Each box is guaranteed to retail over $100 so it really is an awesome deal.  They even curate all the boxes to the month/season that we are in to make sure you are able to take full advantage of all the products.

If you are interested in trying out your own box, use code SHOP5 for $5 off your first box, trust me you are going to be hooked!  Hope everyone has a great Monday and a fabulous week! xoxo

Pink Off The Shoulder Dress...

DRESSShein (c/o) // SHOESGo Jane // BAG: Sold out, Similar HERE and HERE // WATCHWristology (use code 'marvelous20' for 20% off!) // BRACELETStella & Dot // RINGSKendra ScottAqua for Bloomingdales and Michael Kors // EARRINGSBaublebar

Horrayyy for Friday!! Is anyone else so happy that it's finally the weekend!? This week has felt like what's been forever.  I don't have too many plans this weekend, which I am definitely okay with because I need sleep.  zzz

This dress is another favorite from Shein... the color in these photos doesn't even do it justice, it's such a pretty vibrant pink.  I absolutely love the off the shoulder (obviously) as well as the big ruffles which make it so much more fun, plus the quality is amazing for the price.  It's also on the longer side, so no worries of any embrarrasing incidents... the day I wore this dress it was actually SO windy. Ha Ha!  I am also really loving this watch that I got from Wristology.  If you've never heard of Wristology before, think Michael Kors-esque watches for literally a fraction of the price!  They come in so many adorable face colors as well as tons in gold, rose gold and silver.  As an added bonus, if you use code 'marvelous20' at checkout, you'll receive 20% off your order! :) Go check them out!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! xoxo

#SheddBlu Recap

This past weekend I had the honor of attending the SheddBlu Fundraiser event at the Shedd Aquarium.  This year marked the 10th anniversary of the event, with over 1,000 guests attending and more than $450,000 raised to support the Shedd's rehabilitation, rescue, conservation and education initiatives.  The night was filled with delicious food vendors from over 30 of Chicago's top restaurants, sips from the stocked bars, dancing, an amazing skyline view and a fabulous fireworks show from Navy Pier.

We started out in the VIP reception which included signature sips and bite size goodies from local restaurants such as Big Jones, Macello and Shaw's Crab House and live music from the Voice contestant Madi Jones (she is amazing).  We were able to walk throughout the aquarium where we checked out exhibits such as the sea otters (they are SO cute) and the dolphins, which were extremely active.  After viewing some of these awesome exhibits that the Shedd hosts, we were whisked away to the Abbott Oceanarium where we were given a private show filled with dolphins, beluga whales, penguins and a sea lion.  The show was adorable and so entertaining, I was so glad we didn't miss it.

Throughout the night we did some more wandering through the different exhibits, including Amazon Rising and the Waters of the World galleries.  It was so much fun to be able to visit all the of the animals in a more private setting.  There was a silent auction that held so many amazing prizes such as a Kendra Scott gift card and Kate Spade purse as well as golf outings and restaurant gift cards.  My boyfriend and I bid on an Eataly package but were outbid at the last minute and was super bummed!

After eating and mingling, we headed out to the Sick Family Terrace to enjoy more cocktails, a fireworks show and a lot of dancing!  The fireworks are put on from Navy Pier every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer months, but this is probably the best view of the show!  If you missed this event and would like to still join the Shedd for a fun night to see the fireworks show, check out Jazzin' at the Shedd (every Wednesday in the summer!).  After the fireworks show, busses drove us downtown to Public House in River North where we were able to exchange our wristband from the event for a drink of choice and skip the longgg line that was wrapped around the building!

This event was definitely one of the highlights of summer, I highly recommend attending next year!  The ticket prices can be a little pricey, but it's for a really good cause and you get a ton out of it.

The view from the Shedd Aquarium's deck.

Delicious bites from top Chicago restaurants, including Ceviche from Macello.

Delicious salmon from Big Jones- located in the Andersonville neighborhood.

Calm before the storm, the amazing patio at the Shedd which converted into the dance floor for the evening.

Drinks included wine, beer and mixed drinks as well as a few speciality cocktails.

Salmon Tartare Tostadas from Kinmont, a local favorite!

The cutest and most delicious caramel pies.

We were given a VIP exclusive water-life show in the Abbott Oceanarium which included dolphins, beluga whales, penguins and a sea lion!

After dinner treats from More cupcakes, one of my favorite cupcake shops in the city!

Dance party out on the Sick Family Terrace, which included a grand finale fireworks show.

All of the restaurants that participated in the event this year.

Check out the Shedd Aquarium on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube!

*Thank you Shedd Aquarium for giving me access to this years event in exchange for media coverage.

Off The Shoulder with Cotton Candy LA...

TOPCotton Candy LA // JEANSPaige Skyline Skinnies // EARRINGSBaublebar // BAG: Sold out, similar HERE and HERE // SHOESChanel // WATCHMarc by Marc Jacobs // RINGSKendra Scott,  Aqua by Bloomingdales and Michael Kors // BRACELETLoren Hope

If you know me personally, or have been following the blog for a while now, you know pretty much half my closet contains off the shoulder tops and dresses.  It's kind of a real-life obsession... I found this one by Cotton Candy LA recently and was in love with the structure and pattern on the top. There is a concealed bustier bra with an exposed zipper in the back, which holds everything up and is super flattering.  This is the perfect top if you want a built in bra!

I also wanted to point out a website that I found recently, that I have become addicted to, The RealReal.  It's an online designer consignment store that has brands like Louis Vuitton, YSL and Chanel.  I found these Chanel flats for such a steal and they were in amazing condition, honestly looked like they had only been worn once or twice!  I highly recommend checking it out if you want to snatch up some designer pieces without the hefty price tag. (This is by no means sponsored, I just love the site!)

One more thing, if you live in Chicago or ever visit, you have to check out Green Street Smoked Meats in the West Loop!  It's an awesome country-esque casual BBQ place that has the best pulled pork! My mouth is watering just thinking about it...  There is also a hidden Ramen shop in the basement, in case you're not into BBQ.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! Make sure to check back tomorrow for a full recap on my night at the Shedd Aquarium fundraiser! xoxo
