#NOFOMO with Target

This post was sponsored by Target, however all opinions are my own.

TGIF!!! We made it to the end of the week and now it's time to relax and enjoy the weekend!

It doesn't matter what type of body you have or how much you work out in the gym each week, every single person has some type of body insecurity especially when the summer months start to hit.  You realize it's already May (how!?) and pretty soon you're going to have to be in a swimsuit, or a sleeveless top and start to freak out.

Today I am partnering with Target on their #NOFOMO (no fear of missing out) swimsuit campaign to promote body types and looking good in your own skin!  Yes, there are times where I wish I had smaller thighs a skinnier stomach, however what fun would that be for every person to look the exact same?  Target has the perfect swimwear for ALL body types- petite, curvy or tall.  One-piece swimsuits are very in right now and I think a lot of people (including me) appreciate this trend.  No more skimpy suits showing off a ton of skin, these one-pieces are chic and sexy.

I've come to the realization that of course while it's important to stay healthy and exercise, I enjoy my food way too much to make myself eat salads or health foods every day.  I've learned to find clothes and suits that fit my specific body type and feel comfortable wearing them.

This floral monokini is one of my favorite swimsuits this year, and it's currently on sale for less than $30!  The back has a zipper and looks like a two piece, while the front covers most the stomach area.  The colors are also extremely bright and fun in person.  I also love this floral two-piece that has high waisted bottoms.  The wrap top is adorable on!

Last thing... I'm sure you've been seeing these adorable coverups floating around Instagram recently.  I was highly considering getting one (I couldn't decide on the color!) but came across this exact dupe for only $25!! It also comes in an apricot color and the famous stripe one!  I may or may not have gotten all 3... ha ha.  These will go quick, so if you've been eyeing up the original but didn't want to spend that much, I'd grab it now!  The quality is surprisingly really good.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and encourage everyone to get on the #NOFOMO mindset because this summer is one not to miss!! xoxo

Self-Portrait Inspired Dress...

dress // heels // similar earrings (more expensive version here) // midi rings // chevron ring // Loren Hope bracelet // x ring // sunglasses (less expensive version heretassel bag (use code: UE25DL3CV for 25% off!!)

The self-portrait dresses are so popular right now, I've seen everyone from Miranda Kerr to Sophia Bush wearing some version of the dress.  I could not justify paying upwards of $500 right now, so when I came across this dupe, I grabbed it immediately! (I also linked some other very similar dresses below.) I love Aqua's line from Bloomingdales because it's affordable and they always come out with the cutest pieces, a lot of them mimicking runway styles.

I paired this dress with my favorite go-to Steve Madden heels.  I originally bought these heels a couple years ago when I was in a wedding, however they've become a staple piece to so many outfits.  They've also lasted me this long, which is also a major plus!  With a ton of different colors to choose from, you can easily have a pair to wear with any outfit.

Have you been into the lace midi trends?! This dress would be absolutely perfect for a wedding this summer! xoxo

Off The Shoulder Dress- For Only $25!

off the shoulder dress and here // lace up sandals (less expensive version here) // tassel earrings (back in stock!!) // clutch // bracelet // sunglasses (only $12!)

Happy Tuesday friends!! I just got back from Florida last night, and I am already dying to go back.  It was in the 80's in Chicago this past weekend, and of course the day I come back it drops back down into the 40's/50's!! :(  Spring... I really need you to hurry up!!

In regards to that rant, I am obsessed with this ultimate spring outfit.  Nothing screams "spring" more than bright colors and lace up sandals.  Not to mention my current obsession of pom poms, ha ha!  This off the shoulder dress is only $25 and comes in a few different colors.  It's super comfortable and a great dress to throw on for a casual or dressed up look.  It's also really lightweight (but not see-through), so perfect for summer months!!

These lace up sandals are SO much fun.  If you haven't seen them popping up all over Instagram lately- you've probably been living under a rock, ha ha... but no seriously, they are amazing!  They are handmade from Greece, so no two pairs are exactly the same.  They are surprisingly comfortable as well- I felt like I should be doing some kind of dance while wearing them! :)

Back to an overwhelming amount of work and unpacking to do!  Have a great day!! xoxo

Women's Spring Trends with Orvis + Giveaway!

*I received complimentary product from Orvis for this review, however all opinions are my own.

Made it to the half-way point this week, and I have to say it's flying by!  I am heading back down south tomorrow for a long weekend and I am so ready to soak in some vitamin d!  We finally had a 75 degree day this past weekend in Chicago, but the rest of the week is back to being colddd. Boo.

With Spring finally (but slowly) approaching, I've been shopping like crazy for some transitional pieces that I can wear without having to haul around a coat or extra layer.  Lately I am all about bright colors and comfortable flowy pieces, which is why I have become obsessed with Orvis's new spring line.  Everything in this spring collection offers outdoor-ready looks including feminine colors and fresh floral prints.  The collection specializes in giving you that comfortable, casual style for everyday wear including hiking with your girlfriends or grabbing brunch, not to mention the fabrics are ridiculously soft and lightweight!

I was instantly drawn to this lightweight hoodie because of how versatile it is.  I definitely could wear this with jeans, leggings or even shorts in the summer.  The fit has princess seams which gives it the ultimate feminine fit and is UPF 50 for maximum sun protection!  I am someone who is horrible at remembering to wear sunscreen (I really need to get better at that) so this top is perfect because I can be out in the sun all day and not have to worry about it.  The material is lightweight and breathable, so even wearing this in warmer temperatures won't make you sweat and still be sun protected.

I am a huge Sperry fan, so when I saw these I also had to have them.  They come in 3 different colors and are SO comfortable.  Since I got them a couple weeks ago, I have had so many compliments on people asking me where I got them.  Orvis carries a ton of different Sperry's, but these are definitely my favorite and will definitely be my go to walking shoe for walking around this city this summer!

Check out more awesome spring pieces from Orvis here.  I also bought this coverup for the beach and this gingham shirt because who wouldn't love a shirt that doesn't wrinkle?!  You can also check them out on Facebook and Twitter for first access to sales and promotions... but in the meantime, I am giving you $25 off any purchase of $50 or more by using code "ICSPRING."  This is a perfect opportunity to grab some adorable- yet necessary pieces for Spring and Summer!

DIY Inspired Sequin Floppy Hat

What you need:
Pencil

Happy Monday! Recently I've been coming across these adorable sun hats by Eugenia Kim that have different phrases written on them. I've been obsessing over buying one, however the $400 price tag is just not in the budget right now, especially for a hat... So I decided to re-create my own, and it was so easy and so much fun!

To start, I picked up a floppy hat at Marshalls, however you can find super cheap ones here and here. I would recommend getting a light sand colored one as that is what the original one is, however I am sure any color would look just as good! Next, I used this fabric glue and these sequins- which you can find at any Joann Fabrics store or online at Amazon. You want to make sure to buy a glue that dries clear (super important) otherwise you'll be able to see it on the ribbon.

Since the ribbon on the original one was black, I decided to use black sequins on this hat, but there are so many other colors and I plan to do one in pink soon too!  I sketched my letters onto the hat using a pencil (it really works and you can erase marks!) very carefully trying to make it as even and spread out as possible. Next, I used the fabric glue to go over the sketched letters which is the base to hold the sequin ribbon down.

Laying the ribbon on the glue was definitely the hardest part- mainly because it's so sticky, and also because it can be tricky trying to get the ribbon to lay the right way. This takes time and patience, but it's definitely well worth it!

Lastly, let it glue overnight! Any white that you see will go away after it dries, so it will come out clear and you won't be able to see any of the glue.

TaDa!  There you have it, a Eugenia Kim inspired hat for less than 1/4 the cost.  I had so much fun making it and plan to make some more in the future.  What are some fun sayings you'd like to see on a hat?!

xoxo
