Cold shoulder and leopard...

I recently got this top from Zappos and it's easily become one of my favorites!  I have become addicted to anything off the shoulder or cold shoulder (like this one) so when I saw this top for under $50, I couldn't pass it up.  It also comes in white and navy, but I thought the peach color was perfect for the spring and summer!  As you can probably tell from the photos, the material does wrinkle super easy- which is the only downside.  I steamed the shirt before I wore it and by the time I took the pictures it had got a little wrinkly, but I also had it in a bag which was probably not the smartest idea. ha ha!  If you keep it on a hanger in your closet, I doubt it will wrinkle as bad. :)  Another thing I've been seeing a ton of lately is this tassel keychain by Rebecca Minkoff.  For a keychain, it's pretty expensive ($45) but I found this amazing dupe from Target for only $5!! It comes in a couple different colors as well, and looks exactly like the RM!!  I love how it looks with my leopard clutch and I definitely want to get the tan one as well!

On another note... I am just starting to get over having Bronchitis... it is NOT fun.  I was sick pretty much for an entire week and just now finally starting to feel a little better.  I blame it on this weather for messing me up!  I've heard of a bunch of stuff going around, including strep throat which I am very happy I didn't have!!

Thanks stopping by... Have a great Wednesday! xoxo

Hello Airspray Challenge with Pantene

This post was brought to you by Pantene Pro-V... all opinions are my own!

If your anything like me, you know it can be super hard and frustrating to keep your hairstyle last for more than a couple hours without it falling flat... by the time I'm headed out for dinner, my what was curled hair, is now pretty much back to being straight and flat.

Thanks to Pantene Pro-V's new Airspray, you nor I have to worry about that happening anymore.  Pantene's new Airspray is the first ever, alcohol free hair spray that still leaves hair soft, moisturized and manageable. I've found that I can apply this hairspray in the morning and still have the same hair style towards the end of the day, just by using this hairspray twice throughout the day to touch up.  I typically will spray once in the morning, once around lunch time, and once before heading out for happy hour cocktails or dinner with friends.  I have super fine hair, so it's hard to find a hairspray that works wonders, but this one definitely fits the bill!

To celebrate the launch of the new Pantene Pro-V Airspray, you can enter to win the ULTIMATE Girls Weekend in NYC (valued at $3500) for you and your bestie. Your getaway includes:

  • 2-night stay at a hotel in New York City
  • Round trip airfare
  • Ground transportation in New York City to/from airport, car service to/from dinner
  • Blowout and makeup services
  • Gift certificate to dinner

It is super easy to enter! All you have to do is post a picture of your hair done in your favorite look and use the hashtags #HelloAirspray #PanteneXBloglovin #Contest and make sure to tag @Pantene!  You can also add the link to your post in the comment section below to automatically be entered!

Clip-in Extensions with Irresistible Me

Happy Friday!!  I am so excited to finally show you guys my Irresistible Hair Extensions before and after review.  It's really no secret that I have been an avid hair extensions wearer for years whether it be clip-ins or permanent, so I was excited when Irresistible Me reached out to try out theirs!  I can get super picky when it comes to extensions, probably because I have tried so many, and when I saw the price I was a little hesitant about how the quality would be.  I was SO wrong... These extensions are amazing!

The Irresistible Me real human hair extensions come in 15 different colors, 6 different lengths (14, 16, 18, 20, 22 & 24 inches- this pin shows the different lengths) and 3 different gram amounts (100g being the least amount (but still a ton) of hair and 200g being double the amount of hair on the wefts.)  I received the Royal Remy 22 inches in Royal Golden Blonde (#14) and they look pretty much exactly how they do on the website.  This video is so helpful if you are stuck on what color would be best for you.  I was between the golden blonde and the honey blonde, but after watching the video I realized I definitely was more golden blonde. (They provide one sample strand in the pack incase the color you chose is incorrect, but if you open the main package they are non-returnable). Since my hair is very thin to begin with, I knew I would need to stick to the 100g of hair, however if you have thick hair you will definitely want to get the 150 or 200g pack.  I only used 4 of the 7 pieces and it was more than enough hair.  One thing I always hear people talk about when purchasing extensions is that they are disappointed when they shed.  These extensions did shed a little bit, but honestly there is no way to really avoid this happening and is normal.  If you notice big clumps coming out, I would definitely reach out as they may be defective, but a little hair here and there shouldn't be of worry.

As you can see in the pictures above, my natural hair is pretty short!  I have more of an ombre color, as I don't like to highlight at my roots (I hate stripe-y highlights!) so I needed a color that was going to blend in and match my roots.  The color right against my brown color is pretty extreme, but when its covered up it blends almost perfectly!  They are also very soft and because they are made of real human hair, they can be washed and styled as normal (I curl and straighten my extensions all the time).  If you wear clip-in's daily, I would recommend washing them after every 5 wears, as they don't get dirty or oily like your natural hair... this will make them last a lot longer.

If you are a first time customer, you can get 20% off your first order by signing up for their email!  They are currently having a 25% off sale on the Remy extensions, so it's a great time to pick some up for a great price!  If you're not into hair extensions, they also sell hair care, tools and accessories- which too are all on sale up to 50% off right now.

All in all, I would say if you are looking for good quality, affordable extensions- then these are for you. I was very impressed with both the extensions themselves as well as the exceptional customer service that they provide. If you have any questions about these extensions, please let me know in the comment box below! Hope everyone has a great weekend! xoxo

Perfect LWD for under $100!

lace dress // lace up sandals c/o (use code CARA10 for 10% off!!) // clutch (sold out) similar here and here // watch // loren hope cuff // spike bracelet // x ring // chevron ring // earrings (sold out) similar here and here

I have been dying over this Chloe dress ever since it hit the runway... however, the price tag is not exactly in the current budget running in at a whopping $2700.  I was SO excited when I came across this nearly identical dupe dress for under $100 from Shopbop.  This is the perfect LWD for summer and will be perfect for my trip to Mexico later this year.  It is so light and airy, not to mention super comfortable.  The dress is a little revealing, you definitely can not wear a bra, but it's pretty lined so you shouldn't have any 'malfunctions.'  In case your not into white, it also comes in black!!

On another note... can I just talk about how much I am in love with these lace up sandals?!  The girls at UOIOnline sent me over these gorgeous periwinkle blue sandals and they couldn't be a more perfect addition to this outfit. These sandals would also look great with shorts, jeans and dresses, not to mention they are under $30!  I honestly want everything in their shop.  They are located in IL (I can't wait to visit the store in person!!) and sell everything from shoes to accessories and dresses to graphic tees.  I really love this dress and this dress and both are on sale for under $30 as well!  Use code 'CARA10' for 10% off your entire purchase... you can thank me later :)

Time to catch up on the show Girls...  does anyone else watch?!  xoxo

Current Beauty Obsessions...

facial moisturizer // lip scrub // wet brush // purple shampoo // face mask // essie nail polish // contour powder // hair mask // hairspray (perfect for fine hair!)

Happy Monday! If you saw my bathroom, you would immediately think I have an addiction to products.  I can't tell you how many products I own that I probably forgot I even had (whoops).  I am all about staying loyal to products that I love, but I also love trying out new things.  I usually buy the majority of my beauty products from Sephora, however I've really been getting into ordering stuff online (mainly because there is such a huge selection.)

If you have never heard of this hair mask by Hello Hair, you need to immediately purchase it.  It's an Australian based company, however they do ship to the US.  I also found it on Amazon here. It includes so many important ingredients such as coconut oil, aragon oil, olive oil and castor oil (which contains a high content of omega-9 fatty acids- perfect for dry hair.)  I saturate my hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes, but you can leave it on overnight if your hair is super dry.  The best part, it's only $15 and you can get about 4-5 uses out of it depending on your hair texture, length etc.

On the topic of hair, this Blonde Ale shampoo by Drybar is amazing.  I am in love with the smell and i've actually noticed a big difference in the brightness of my blonde ends.  I usually get super brassy, but this has definitely helped correct to a bright, pretty blonde!  I go to Drybar quite a lot for blowouts, so I was super excited when they conveniently put out the line in stores.

The Wet Brush is essential if you have tangly hair.  Since my hair is super fine, after I take a shower, it pretty much comes out in knots (not kidding, ha ha.)  I used to brush my hair with a regular comb, but I would have so much hair come out of it that I had to find something else.  I learned about the wet brush after visiting a salon who used it on me and I was shocked to see how easily it brushed through!  The bristles are firm enough to brush through knots but but flexible enough to be gentle to the scalp.  It's also under $10 and can be found at most stores like Target, Walmart etc.

What are some of your current beauty obsessions? xoxo

Top Tan Sandals under $100!

I have been on a major sandals kick lately.  I swear they keep coming out with one cute pair after the next and I can't keep up!! Since I tend to buy more than one pair, and I am sure lots of you do too, I rounded up my favorite tan (because everything goes with tan!) sandals that are all under $100!  Lace-up sandals, which were a huge trend last spring, are back again this year and even better than ever.  These Sam Edelman ones are super cute and come in a couple different colors.  If you've never owned a pair of Sam Edelman's, you NEED to.  They are so comfortable and durable, so they last a really long time!  These would be cute to wear with skinny jeans, dresses and even shorts...

I also love these Charlotte Russe heeled ones.  They are under $40 and and are great dupes of the Steve Maddens.  I talk a lot about Charlotte Russe's shoes, but honestly it's because I do think they make awesome shoes, especially for the price.  I even got some of my best friends hooked on only buying shoes from there!! :)

I recently bought these caged sandals from Target, and they were under $40 as well.  I think they look almost identical to the Sam Edelman's, and they are about half the price.  These come in both black and tan, and I bought the tan ones-- but I think I may go back for the black!  They fit true to size and look amazing with dresses and skinny jeans!

I really believe you don't have to buy an expensive pair of shoes to look good.  All of these are perfect for spring, so you really can't go wrong!  Which one are you crushing on?

Happy St. Patty's day! xoxo

Chambray off the shoulder for under $40!

chambray top (also love this one) // white jeans // necklace (sold out) similar here and here // leopard clutch // earrings // sunglasses // gold watch // flats

It is just me, or is it crazy that it's already the middle of March?  I feel like this year is flying by and I really wish it would slow down!

This top is one of my new favorites from Francesca's.  Francesca's is one of my favorite stores, mainly because it's super affordable, but also because they only stock a few sizes in every piece they sell.  You definitely won't see every other girl wearing the same thing from there, because once they are sold out- it's sold out.  I have been looking for a chambray off the shoulder top for a while now, and when I found this one, I immediately fell in love.  It's super flowy and best part is, it's only $38!

These flats are super affordable as well, they are only $15!  Charlotte Russe is one of my favorite stores for shoes because they are always pretty good quality for the price. I love the fringe detail around the ankle and the fact that they are so comfortable! I have wider feet so flats don't always fit me right, but these were perfect!

I had so much fun shooting by this wall.  If you're in Chicago, you have to check out New City are on North and Halstead.  They have a bowling alley, tons of restaurants and a movie theater plus a ton of shopping... all in one spot!  I feel like I'd never have to go anywhere else... ha ha.

Made it through Monday... let's do this! xoxo

Travel Necessities with HomeAway...

Happy Thursday!! Today I have teamed up with HomeAway to share my Weekend Getaway travel essentials!  Spring Break is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to start thinking about what to bring with you.  My essentials are focused on a beach vacation, because my dream vacation spot is in a tiki hut on Bora Bora.  Everything about this place screams fun and relaxation!  I would love to stay in one of those private huts in the middle of the ocean... sigh... maybe some day! :)

I have been going to Florida pretty much my whole life for Spring Break, as it's close enough to get away but still get the tropical feel as you would in Mexico, etc.  I found it interesting that one of HomeAway's most popular area for vacationing is in the Florida Panhandle.  I usually venture a little more south to the Fort Myers area (mainly because my parents live there in the winter) but I am dying to visit Pensacola Beach! If you don't know where Pensacola is, it is right by Gulf Shores, Alabama (another place I'd like to visit eventually!) and is located right at the top of the panhandle.  It is 22 miles of sandy beach right along the Gulf of Mexico.  You can find so many awesome deals on beach-front rooms starting at right around $100/night!  Visit HomeAway to start planning and take a look at my top 5 essentials to get you ready for a beach getaway!

Happy Planning!! xoxo

Black and White w/ a Splash of Color...

When I saw this top at Bloomingdales, I knew I immediately had to have it. I love the cold shoulder aspect and the ruffly sleeves! The top is a little more cropped so it definitely looks best with a high-waisted skirt or pants. I also loved the fact that it was a Bloomingdales exclusive, so it's not something you'd see on every other person, unless they all shop at Bloomingdales! Ha ha.  If you can't tell, I've also been obsessed with bright colors lately... probably because I am so ready for spring. These shoes I found at Forever 21 are under $40!  The look super similar to some high end designer lace ups, but at a fraction of the cost.  Especially for a color that isn't practical for every day wear, it's nice to be able to purchase a couple different pairs in other fun colors!  I also found a super similar bag for under $30!  Mine sold out quick, but this one looks pretty much identical.

In other news, it's 60 degrees here today!! I was so excited to be able to go outside and not wear a coat. I am attending a blogger event tonight at the Kendra Scott store, and I can't wait to meet up with some girls I haven't seen in a while... plus there will be champagne and cupcakes, what could be better than that!?

Hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday!! xoxo

Splurge vs Save...

I love doing these posts because it's so fun to see items that are normally thousands of dollars in way more affordable options!  I feel like every store lately has some kind of take on the high designer fashion that still looks good without breaking the bank.  I am all for saving money here and there... I rarely ever buy anything full price (unless it's an absolute must-have) so I like to search for items like this!

How almost identical is this clutch to the Valentino one?  Besides the leather being not be as great of quality as the Valentino, this looks SO similar!!  I also have been obsessing over these Aquazzura heels and found the perfect dupe at Express for only $88!  Another shoe that is super in right now are these Valentino espadrilles.  For a hefty price tag of $595, they aren't super realistic, but I found these dupes by Soludos for only $75.

Now I will say, I do occasionally splurge on a designer item if I know it's something I can see myself having for a long time- something that won't go out of style after one season.  For the more trendy pieces, things that I think will be out next season, is where I tend to go for dupe-brands.  I do not however agree with fake bags like Chanels, Louis', etc...  There is no reason why anyone should be carrying one of those around pretending it's real!

Is there any dupes you've seen lately that are super similar to high-end brands?!

Have a great Monday!! xoxo

Shopbop Spring Sale...

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven

The Shopbop Spring sale has kicked off and I couldn't be more excited!!  Here are the details:

Use code 'BIGEVENT25'* at checkout to get:
15% off orders over $250
20% off orders over $500
25% off orders over $1000
*sale ends on March 5th (exclusions do apply, but not many!!)

Shopbop has always been one of my favorite online stores and once in a while they will have some amazing sales on high end items that rarely ever go on sale!  I honestly feel like Shopbop is a one stop shop when it comes to finding everything and anything.  For example, you can find earrings, a dress, anddd a fun pink flamingo float all in the same place.  I am a huge fan of designer pieces (sadly my bank account is not) but I do love a good sale!  Stock up on tons of items for spring and summer by getting a discount on those items so that when it's here you've already got it!
I am absolutely loving these sandals.  Everything about them just makes me so ready for summer and the colors make me so happy.  I also love these earrings, they look exactly like the Oscar de la Renta ones but for a fraction of the price!  I will definitely be picking up this dress and this swimsuit because I am a fan of everything Mara Hoffman puts out, and these are practically genius...

Did you purchase anything from this sale?  I'd love to hear what you're swooning over right now!!  Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

Crochet Sleeve Romper...

romper (c/o) use code 'cara15' for 15% off your purchase! // baublebar necklace // kendra scott "danielle" earrings // michael kors ring // stella & dot ring // kate spade bag (sold out) similar here and here // loren hope bracelet // marc by marc jacobs watch //kelsi dagger peep toe booties (sold out) similar here and here

I had such an amazing time down in Florida with family, that it's taken a while for me to get back into my normal routine.  The weather was SO warm the entire time and never rained until the day I left!  It was nice to be able to wear shorts or a sundress to go out, or lay by the pool and let that vitamin d soak in! ha ha.

I received this adorable romper from Adorn Apparel, an online store based in Jacksonville, FL.  I was super excited when I got it because I love rompers and I love anything that has a lace/crochet sleeve... so this was the best of both worlds!  The online store has a wide variety of items from dresses and rompers to activewear and outerwear.  I absolutely love these leggings and this skirt!  That skirt would be perfect for the spring/summer and those leggings look so comfy, while adding style.

Alecia, the owner, is so nice.  She gives back 10% of the entire profit to various projects including women involved in sex trafficking and women who are less fortunate.  I think this is so amazing and makes you appreciate purchasing from a business owner like her! They also have a membership program where you receive 10% off, plus get first hand access to any future sales.

I definitly recommend checking out this store.  If you use code 'cara15' you will receive 15% off your total purchase... Happy Shopping!! xoxo
