Instagram Round-Up

Happy Tuesday! I made it through Monday, and I'm not sure how...
Since it's the first 2nd (official) week of Fall, I decided to wrap up this week with a little instagram round-up.  A little mixture of both summer styles and fall styles, all pieces very transitional!  I usually am not a fan of this time of year, (think- beautiful sunny day outside, actual freezing cold temps :/)  but am starting to get super excited because of all the awesome styles out there!  This season it's all about suede, over the knee boots, layers, blazers, denim skirts (think 50's style), flare-style jeans, pointed loafers, jumpsuits and so much more.

Ann Taylor lace sleeve top- sold out (similar here), Shorts-old (similar here), Striped iPhone case (on sale!), House of Harlow necklace (rocksbox goodie), Baublebar earrings

2nd Rocksbox Delivery!

I just received my second Rocksbox delivery and once again, I'm impressed!  I loved the spiked bracelet from the last box so much that I didn't send it back, whoops! Like the last box, this one came with a necklace and earrings, but instead of a bracelet there was a delicate cute little ring.  Both of these boxes now have come with pieces that go together really well, so that if you want to wear all 3 at the same time- you can!  I usually like to keep and wear the pieces in each box for about a week before sending it back for another set!  Also, you can get a first box completely free on me by using the code: marvelousinthemidwestxoxo.  There is no credit card required or obligation after the first box, so check it out and receive unlimited jewelry delivered to you for a whole month!

Here's what I received!

Always the cutest wrapping!

Slate Crystal Spike Earrings- no longer available (Almost identical here!)

The Must Have Fall Flats: The Ghillie!

'Ghillie' flats are on trend this season and can be seen anywhere from the street to the runway, and as soon as I saw these- I knew I had to have a pair.  Some people might get deterred because of the super pointy toe and go for the more round classic toe, however this style is a little more polished, perfect for work or the weekend! I bought the Topshop ones in black leather, but I've started noticing so many other patterns and colors that are just as amazing.  The black ones are super versatile and really go with any outfit, so I knew I'd have a better investment going with these!  I already plan on living in these this fall... it was 50 degrees this morning in Chicago, and then by 3pm it was 80! Chicago is apparently still confused on what time of year it is. :)

(Lesser expensive version!) under $100 and comes in 3 colors as well!

Topshop 'Fickle' Pointy Toe Ghillie (less extreme pointed toe, under $100!)

Loeffler Randall 'Ambra' Flats (dreaming about these)

Skin Care Favorites

With it starting to get cooler and fall right around the corner, I've really started thinking more about my skin care routine and the best products for the chilly, dry weather that's ahead!  I hate to admit it, I am not the best at taking care of my skin, but I'm trying super hard this season to keep a routine!  One thing that I am good at it moisturizing at night and in the morning, and if there is one tip to take away, it's moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.  I wish I would have thought like this 10 years ago. Ha!

I decided to share some of my absolute favorite products, as well as some I am definitely going to be trying out this season!

My hands-down favorite moisturizer: Clinique "Dramatically Different" Lotion (I've used this for years)

Runner up: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser (smells like cucumbers!)

Favorite eye cream: Clinique 'All About Eyes' Cream

Favorite Lip Repair for dry, flaky lips: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

Favorite Body Lotion: Nivea Q10 Skin Firming Body Lotion

I'm always open for any recommendations on other products!  Here's to hoping my routine stays on course, fingers crossed! xoxo

Rocksbox Subscription + FREE box!

I received my first Rocksbox in the mail today, so I thought I'd share my feedback on it! I've been looking at Rocksbox for awhile now, because I can never have enough jewelry and I thought it would be a great way to try pieces out and decide what I like and what I don't.

For $19 a month, you can rent 3 pieces of designer jewelry for as long as you want, or swap them out right away for other pieces. If you absolutely love one (or all!) of the items in the box, you can purchase it. As an added bonus, they give you a credit of $10 a month in your account that goes towards a purchase!  There is free shipping and the envelope you receive the box in is prepaid, so when you're ready to send it back for new pieces it's free as well!

The packaging is so cute. Mine came with a bracelet (that I put on my wish list) as well as a pair of earrings and a necklace.  All 3 pieces matched perfectly and would be easy to wear with pretty much any outfit.  I was hoping for some Kendra in this box, but maybe it will show up in next months!

All in all, I think it's a pretty good deal and idea if you love jewelry as much as I do.  You can't go wrong with trying different designer pieces especially if you're like me and don't like to 'over-wear' things. :)

Looking for ideas for other monthly box subscriptions!! The mail man pretty much knows me by name now- ha!

PS! You can get a FREE month of Rocksbox by using my code (carabff72).  There is no contract or commitment so if you hate it (which I know you won't) you can cancel with no penalty!!
