Mini Makeover with Babbleboxx

This post is sponsored by Babbleboxx.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

If you've been following along with me for a while now, you know I love working with Babbleboxx.  They are ultimately like a subscription box for social media influencers like myself, to try out different brands... many of which it was my first time hearing about.  I got super excited about this box because it was filled to the brim with not one but TWO pairs of super comfortable shoes (leopard, eh eh) and other makeover essentials!

Earth Brands Shoes:

Both pairs I received (the hightop sneakers and the leopard booties) are super comfortable and definitely right on trend with this seasons styles. The leopard booties have definitely been a repeat item since I got them, and I've gotten several questions on where to purchase them! The heel height is right under 3", so they're easy to walk in and the memory foam footbed makes these a heel you can walk around all day in.  I styled both pairs of shoes with a black bodycon dress and an oversized cardigan for a laid back but still put together fall look.

Another cool thing about Earth Brands? They partner with trees.org to plant a tree for every purchase made!

Fun fact: I got Lasik surgery done about 7 years ago as a college graduation gift.  I had worn glasses and contacts since 8th grade and was ready to put those behind me and get something more permanent.  Wellll... 7 years later and one of my eyes have gone bad again.  It's super frustrating because it throws off my balance (my left eye is still pretty good but definitely not perfect.)  Since I knew I had to start wearing glasses and contacts to correct this again, I was excited to try out these contacts by Aveo!  Aveo has an affordable monthly subscription program starting at less than $1 a day, free shipping and the first month (30 pairs) is free!  I found it's really easy to get started, you just use your existing prescription, or start a new one using your phone.  I was honestly super impressed by these contacts.  The one thing I hated most about contacts when I wore them in the past, is how dry and uncomfortable they would get.  These contacts are hydrating, have UV protection (huge plus!) and are the perfect fit which means I will be ordering more next month!

First I want to start off by saying this stuff smells heavenly... like it's so good I want to purchase bottles in bulk after this!  I had never used Summer's Eve nor heard of the product before receiving this, but I am so glad I have now!  The cleansing wash is a feminine hygiene product meant to rinse away odor-causing bacteria without leaving you feeling like you have a sticky residue on afterward.  Like I said, it smells amazing and lasts a long time!

The cleansing wipes individually wrapped and are perfect for freshening up throughout the day.  The easy and discreet packaging fits right into your purse or wallet too!

I will admit, I love shapewear.  Whenever I want to feel good in a bodycon or form-fitting dress, I always reach for some shapewear to smooth everything out... which is exactly what this one does.  It comes in both black and champagne, helps smooth out the tummy and waist and has an underwire bra cup with a lightweight push up pad for extra support.  I also love that the straps are removable for versatility.  This fits true to size (go with your regular bra size) and is currently on sale for under $20!

There you have it! All perfect items for a "mini-makeover" to make you look and feel your best.  xoxo

Dining with Woodfield Mall

This post is sponsored by Woodfield Mall. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

Back when I was in high school, my friends and I used to make the drive from Wisconsin (about 2 hours-ish) to Woodfield Mall on the weekends to shop. Living in Wisconsin, we didn't have all the good stores like Nordstrom, so we'd pack up and make a whole day out of it. Now that I'm living in Chicago, I love how close I am to the mall as it's one of the biggest in the country with over 300 retail stores!

Since my high school days, they've really made some amazing improvements to the dining options at Woodfield Mall, specifically, they're new Dining Pavilion and main restaurants such as Uncle Julio's, Kinfork BBQ & Tap (my fav!) and the Cheesecake Factory. Unlike your standard mall food courts that just house a Mickey D's and Sbarro (note they DO still have these at Woodfield if that's your thing!!) they've added more upscale and exciting options such as Blaze Pizza, Stan Donuts and even a Nic's Organic Food... how cool is that for a food court?!

Last week I had the opportunity to check out the new Dining Pavilion and eat at some of their most popular restaurants and you can say that by the time I left, all I wanted to do was pass out and go to sleep- I was stuffed! We started at Kinfork BBQ & Tap for appetizers and cocktails. If you ever get a chance to visit them, I HIGHLY recommend the cheese curds (because duh, I'm from Wisconsin and we LOVE our cheese curds!!) But really, they're that good. They also make amazing Moonshine cocktails, my favorite being the 'Peach Smash.' I love Kinfork because it's a one of a kind restaurant (not a chain) and the atmosphere is super relaxed and casual yet fun.

After apps at Kinfork we headed to Uncle Julio's, a popular Mexican restaurant in Chicago and the burbs for entrees and margaritas! Since living in Chicago for the past 7 years, Uncle Julio's has been a go-to spot for Matt and me to fill our Mexican food cravings. From the table side guacamole to the table side margaritas (order the 321 margarita- it's SOO cool!!) everything is fresh and delicious, and it's always consistent which I love. We always get an appetizer to start (like the bacon wrapped shrimp) and then split an order of fajitas because they're huge!

Our last stop was to the Cheesecake Factory for some cheesecake. I have to be honest, it had been a while since I had cheesecake from there but it was just as good as I remembered! With endless amounts of options it was hard to pick just one but after getting to sample a couple of their seasonal specials (Cinnabon & Black Cherry- say what?!) I went with the classic S'mores, because who doesn't love a good chocolate/marshmallow combo!?

If you live in Chicago or are traveling here for fun and are looking for a spot to shop, I promise you- Woodfield Mall is the place to be!

OUR WEDDING PHOTOS!

Happy Monday! I am so excited to share with you all some photos from our wedding.  I feel like ours took forever to get to us, but they're finally here and I wanted to give you all the first peek!  I will be posting more throughout the next couple of weeks, so today's mostly include pictures from the ceremony and of just Matt and me.

Our wedding was definitely the best day of both of our lives by far.  We had people travel from near and far to be with us and for that, we are forever grateful.  Everything about the day felt like a major fairytale and I couldn't be more happy with the way everything turned out!  I will say, in the week or so leading up to the wedding I had things start stressing me out that I wish I definitely would have just ignored and left alone.  I was worried about how my hair & makeup would look, if everything would run smooth, if I would pass out at the altar (no, seriously I had a HUGE fear of this) and in the end, everything came out perfect!  I have never felt happier, supported and more filled with love then I did that day.  A HUGE thank you to all of our friends, family & vendors that helped play a role in making it so so special & a day that we will never forget!!

What I'm Buying for Fall from the Shopbop Sale!

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE

Happy Friday!! One of my favorite sales of the year, the Shopbop sale, is finally ON and goes through tomorrow... and you can save big on tons of full priced and sale pieces for fall! To save, enter the code STOCKUP18 to receive 20% off your order of $500 or less, or 25% off your order of $500 or more.

If you can't tell, I am crushing on anything and everything leopard for fall so I made sure to add this adorable tank, mules and hair bow for a steal! I also am a huge fan of these Levi jeans which fit like perfection are super affordable-- only $88!  The distressing isn't over the top and still looks super cute with a pair of booties or high knee boots.  I love the Shopbop sale because it includes designers that rarely go on sale, like Tory Burch and Stuart Weitzman! These boots are on the pricey side, but they last forever and look amazing! If you are going to invest in one thing this fall, I would definitely have it be them.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! xoxo

Stepping Out for Fall in Rockport x Zappos!

This post is sponsored by Zappos.  As always, all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting brands that make Marvelous in the Midwest possible!

Welp... first off, so sorry for being MIA on here lately! With the wedding finally over && leaving on our honeymoon for 11 days (more to come soon!) you can say things have been pretty hectic around here.  Excited to bring lots more content your way this fall!

Speaking of fall... can you guys believe tomorrow is already the first day of fall?! I am such a summer girl and love LOVE the heat, but I have been getting that itch to dress for fall, especially to wear boots & booties again.  One of my absolute most favorite places to buy shoes is Zappos.  Whenever I need a new pair of shoes, I can rely on Zappos for their amazing customer service, super fast & free shipping (I usually get things in only 2 days tops... perfect for procrastinators like me!) and their massive range of styles. Another plus? If they don't fit or work out for whatever reason, you have 365 days to return them-- a whole YEAR!

One brand I was recently introduced to on Zappos is Rockport. I ordered the Rockport Cobb Hill Collection Rashel V Cut Boot and quickly found them to be the most comfortable booties I own thanks to their cushioned footbed and soft fabric lining.  These stylish booties are a fall wardrobe essential especially if you live in a city where you do a lot of walking... it feels like you're walking on a cloud!  This specific pair comes in 4 different colors and is uniquely versatile that can take from day to night without having to change shoes.

Style tip: Pair these booties with skinny jeans and an oversized sweater, or a dress with a boyfriend cardigan for some other super cute fall looks... & I promise, your feet will love you!

Time to unpack! xoxo

Fall Shoe- Ready with madden NYC & Kohl's

This post is sponsored by Kohl's. I was paid for this post and received the included shoes as compensation.

If there is one thing I can't live without, it's most likely a good pair of shoes.  I own well over 100 pairs of shoes but still continue to buy new ones when I find a good deal on a pair I love.  Once in a while, I will splurge on a designer pair or a pair that's relatively expensive, but I typically love to buy ones that are trendy yet don't break the bank so I always have a new pair on hand.

One of my favorite places to find affordable shoes is definitely Kohl's.  With their extensive lines of everything from active sneakers to high heels and sandals, I promise you can find just about any pair of shoes your looking for there.  I was recently introduced to the madden NYC line that's sold at Kohl's and fell in love with these black multi sneakers.  They are perfect for fall, come in TEN different colors and are literally one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own.  They elastic band backing for an easy slip-on style, and pre-tied laces so you don't have to worry about actually tying your shoes!  I've loved these shoes for running around town (living in Chicago, they're perfect for walking!) and also for a more laid back casual style... and best of all, all colors are only $39.99!

Another pair that I absolutely love, are these casual but super cute sandals in rose gold.  These are also the perfect transition from summer to fall sandals, come in 5 different colors and look amazing with any dress, pair of shorts, jeans etc.  The rose gold color is so pretty in person and really dresses up any outfit.  These sandals feature a backless design, adjustable strap and a cute toe ring style for maximum comfort and cuteness!  Kohl's is currently running a fall sale where sandals are currently $39.99 (originally $49.99) plus they always have additional promo codes- so make sure to look out for that for an amazing deal... you may even want to stock up in every color!
